What is a professional holiday? It is an opportunity to express gratitude to the employees of this or that industry for their conscientious labor and achievements in their activities. This year the 85th anniversary of the repair and construction shop No. 960 coincided with the Builder's Day. The solemn event was held in the conference hall of the trade union organization of the company. The best representatives of shop No. 960 were congratulated by the chairman of the trade union organization Victor Aleksandrovich Bukin. The congratulatory address on behalf of Vitaly Petrovich Shmelev, CMK General Director, was read out by Stanislav Vladimirovich Levotaev, Acting Chief Engineer of the Company: "A solid foundation for today's development of Stupino Metallurgical Company is its rich history, irreplaceable long-term production experience, preserved thanks to the labor team of the Company, - emphasized Stanislav Levotaev. - From the bottom of my heart I wish the team of your shop success in realization of the plans, festive mood and new achievements. Accept the words of sincere gratitude for your professionalism, responsibility, devotion to your profession. May you always be accompanied by creative inspiration, wisdom and luck! Strong health, happiness and prosperity to you and your families!

The repair and construction shop has always been and remains an important link in the production activities of CMK. The construction of the Stupino Metallurgical Plant began in 1936 with the decision to erect the largest aluminum rolling mill in Europe. The construction works were headed by Gurgen Vartanovich Viziryan, who later became the first director of the enterprise created by him. At the construction site his talent as a highly qualified engineer, an excellent organizer and a brave innovator was fully manifested. He was able to unite and mobilize a team of many thousands of builders, fitters and metallurgists, who in a short time erected plant No. 150. The builders did their best to erect the shops as soon as possible, fulfilled their targets ahead of schedule, set labor records. The average fulfillment of norms for 1936 amounted to 171%. This shock-work construction and its workers were heard and talked about all over the Soviet Union. Along with industrial construction, the workers of the shop created housing, social, cultural and household institutions, city improvement and construction of engineering communications. The pioneer builders worked, giving all their strength to the construction. Thanks to their selfless labor, the city first with wooden sidewalks and "frame-filled" barracks, and later with brick houses grew, became beautiful and landscaped in just a few years. 95% of Stupino's infrastructure was built by CMK builders.

Today representatives of the repair and construction shop No. 960 are worthy heirs and successors of the glorious traditions, writing their labor history of success, contributing their personal participation in the production achievements of the Company, proving their devotion to the chosen profession and the enterprise as a whole by their daily work. Under the leadership of Pavel Andreevich Smirnov, the employees of the repair and construction shop are actively engaged in construction, reconstruction of production sites, preparing excavations for installation of new equipment, renovating frontispieces of buildings and structures, repairing locker rooms in shops and offices.

The Builder's profession has been and remains one of the most important and honorable. The division employs experienced specialists who know their job well and are able to solve tasks in a short period of time. Skill, but also the willingness to use the latest technologies and materials are important for this profession. CMK builders are always one step ahead, successfully applying modern solutions and, thus, achieving high quality of work. Although subdivision No. 960 is classified as an auxiliary unit, the work of its employees is always ahead of the curve: their labor makes the work of metallurgists convenient and comfortable, ensures the development of production and social and living conditions. The contribution of the team to the future of the Company is noticeable, and the results of its activities remain to serve people for many years to come.

The celebration continued with the presentation of awards to the best representatives of Shop No. 960. In total, sixty-five construction workers were awarded under the applause of those present.
